I'm passionate about design, find inspiration in nature, and create every project with purpose.

I bring together over 20 years in the design industry, a love of flowers, and my farm girl roots to create spaces that are functional, welcoming, and true to the people who live in them.

Clients trust me to design spaces that reflect them, support their lifestyle, and feel good to come home to every day.

My role is to listen, take away the overwhelm, and bring their vision to life - whether it’s designing a new garden, styling an interior, creating custom seasonal planters, or caring for their garden throughout the seasons.

The snow may have slowed me down on the drive home from Toronto, but the magic of Christmas - and connecting with friends old while creating new ones - felt like the true purpose behind my journey home to the Dunvegan Christmas Market.

“Maybe Christmas doesn’t come from a store… maybe Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.” ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to The Glengarry Pioneer Village for hosting, Linda Adkins-Rutgers for organizing (plus our annual hug!), Shane Signs for creating the decals for my signage, Sherilyn Campbell for capturing these beautiful photos of the village, and finally to everyone who stopped by to chat and support me and the other local artisans.

The mighty Payne River looks very different this morning from when I saw it last in September.❄️ 
I love getting pics from home, and the ones my brother sent me from the farm today were no exception. #justwow

This is hoarfrost. Something I’ve never seen in person or even heard of until today!

From what I’ve read:
“It typically forms on clear, cold, and calm nights when surfaces cool to below the frost point, causing the water vapor to sublimate directly into ice.”

And the word hoar comes from an Old English adjective meaning “old age,” referring to the frost’s resemblance to white hair.

Isn’t it incredible? 🤩

I do know I’ll never get old being grateful for my farm roots, and I’m so excited knowing I’ll be home in a couple of weeks!

It wasn’t a winter wonderland in the gardens at Langdon Hall yesterday - and even though I was really hoping and praying it wouldn’t snow today… turns out it was exactly what I needed to embrace.🙏

The time to pause and reflect on a powerful day at the #heartwiredceo event - and to remind myself not to give up on the dreams I have today, or the ones still waiting for me to discover.

Choosing to see the art beyond the destruction - and both my heart (and my clients!) are full knowing a few neighbourhood bellies are too.🧡🐿️

Sometimes you just have to get creative and roll with it - and I love that my clients appreciate my, sometimes not-so-serious, garden updates when I’m on site.📸😁

But in all seriousness, those lighthearted & silly moments are part of who I am - and what I love about the real work I do. ⬇️

If you watch my stories, you’ll often hear me say “I gotta boogie,” “I gotta hustle,” or “I gotta get it in gear”… well, this time I literally got one of my custom planters in @gearsbikeshop! 
This one was extra special, because:

1️⃣ I’ll never forget my first Saturday morning ride back in the spring of 2005 - showing up solo with my $1k Jamis steel frame, being totally terrified because I had never ridden a road bike or let alone in a group - and meeting “the” @ivk_kennedy for the first time on the front steps of the shop.

2️⃣ It was also the season when I was working through chronic depression and our dad’s first stroke - and when I reflect on it today, those years of riding became my outlet, my release, and such a significant part of my healing - and chapter in my life’s story.🙏

Those weekly 4+ hour rides taught me so much more than just how to ride: they were about testing my limits both mentally and physically; learning self-discipline; building trust, respect, and camaraderie among my fellow riders - and forming friendships that made every tough climb, occasional sprint, and post-ride breakfast (and afternoon nap) worth it!

Fast forward 14 years to this past Friday night - arriving at the shop not on two wheels (and definitely not in the right footwear 😅) - and meeting Ira once again on those same front steps. This time with excitement, joy, and a giant hug because that girl from 2005 has grown.✨

Many of the faces have changed over the years at the shop, but I’m honoured to know them, and grateful for the years they supported me on my cycling journey - and now, for supporting me in my business all these years later.

Thank you, Gears - and thank you, Ira and Kevin. You are, friends for life! 💛

In this season of thanks, I’m grateful for the connections, support, and community I’m growing with around me.💛🧡

I’ve been on many construction and furniture walk-throughs over the years but…

My favourites might just be the quiet ones - in my pyjamas and bare feet, checking on what’s growing in my ‘little corner of the world’ on a Sunday morning. ❤️

Weekend maintenance at home = all plants are in and establishing new roots! 🌿

Taking in the breeze and these warm halloumi cheese balls with thyme from the sweetest clients. 🥰

Grateful for moments like this and hope you’re finding space to slow down and enjoy this summer season too because…

Even though I’d rather be in the garden, I made the call this morning to pause outdoor work during these extreme temperatures because…

EVERYTHING was sweating yesterday when I was out completing my weekly garden maintenance - even in the shade!☀️

I forgot I even had them! 😱

I started the process on May 4th, and they’ve really taken off over the last few days. 🤩

Thanks to Facebook’s “then and now” feature that popped up in my feed today ⬇️

Last year on this day, I was picking up tulips and counting down the days until spring…

Fast forward to today ⏩ where I’m actually planting, pulling locally grown 🇨🇦 plugs and working behind the scenes at one of my favorite local nurseries until I kick off the garden season! 💚🌿

The countdown to the first day of spring continues, though, and while we enjoyed double digits today, we’re now into the single digits (not counting today, because it’s basically over 😜) until March 20th!!

T-minus 9 🌷’s until spring, everyone!
